Prototype draft

Terms and Conditions

Last updated: September 4, 2026 · Doorstep Local (operated by Yavin Digital)

These Terms explain how you may use Doorstep Local and our neighborhood directories (for example Harvest). This is a readable prototype draft for the product demo — not formal legal advice and not a substitute for counsel-reviewed terms.

1. Who we are

Doorstep Local is a hyper-local business directory and neighborhood hub. The product is operated by Yavin Digital. “We,” “us,” and “our” mean Doorstep Local / Yavin Digital. “You” means a visitor, resident, or business using the site.

2. Neighborhood directories vs business signup

Directories (like Harvest) help residents find trusted local help, offers, events, and homeowner resources for a specific community — not the whole internet.

Business signup / membership lets local businesses claim a listing, appear in one or more directories, and (when available) run neighborhood ads. Pricing shown in the prototype (for example $29/mo primary directory, extra directories $25/mo) is illustrative and may change.

3. Listings, offers, and featured placements

Business profiles, offers, sponsor strips, and featured placements are provided by members or by us for demonstration. We may edit, reorder, pause, or remove content that is inaccurate, outdated, misleading, or inconsistent with neighborhood standards. Featured or sponsored labels mean paid or promotional placement when live; in this prototype they are sample UI.

4. User submissions

Residents, community members, and representatives may submit community updates, group listings, government notes, and similar content (events, announcements, roadwork notes, business recommendations, Facebook group suggestions, local government / representative updates, and related tips). You confirm that what you send is accurate to the best of your knowledge, does not infringe others’ rights, and is appropriate for a neighborhood audience.

All posts, community updates, group listings, and government / representative submissions are subject to review and approval before publishing. Nothing is guaranteed to appear on Doorstep Local or a neighborhood directory just because it was submitted.

4A. Editorial approval & community standards

Approval is discretionary. We have no obligation to publish any submission. In plain English:

  • If content goes against Doorstep Local or the directory operator’s strongly held beliefs or community standards, we reserve the right not to post it.
  • Community Facebook groups and similar listings may be removed after review if they do not directly benefit Harvest residents (or the residents of that directory).
  • We may decline, edit, delay, or remove submissions — including political or civic updates — that do not benefit residents, look like a campaign free-for-all, or violate these Terms.

Directories are curated neighborhood hubs, not open message boards.

5. Accounts

Some features require an account (member dashboard, ads tools, sign-in). You are responsible for keeping login details secure and for activity under your account. Notify us if you suspect unauthorized access. Prototype sign-in and dashboards may simulate flows without a live backend.

6. Acceptable use

Do not use Doorstep Local to:

  • Post illegal, harassing, fraudulent, or deceptive content
  • Spam residents or scrape the directories
  • Impersonate another person or business
  • Interfere with the site’s operation or security
  • Upload malware or attempt unauthorized access

We may suspend access for misuse.

7. Third-party links and local info

Directories may link to city, HOA, school, utility, and business websites. Those sites have their own terms and privacy practices. Community resource info (trash days, contacts, etc.) is provided for convenience and may change — verify with the official source when it matters.

8. Disclaimers

The service is provided “as is.” We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, complete accuracy of every listing, or that a recommended business will meet your needs. Hiring or purchasing from a local business is between you and that business.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, Doorstep Local / Yavin Digital is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from use of the site, directories, submissions, or member tools. Our total liability for any claim related to the prototype or service is limited to the fees you paid us (if any) in the three months before the claim — or $0 for free / demo use.

10. Changes

We may update these Terms as the product matures. The “Last updated” date will change when we do. Continued use after updates means you accept the revised Terms for future use of the live service.
