Prototype draft

Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 4, 2026 · Doorstep Local (operated by Yavin Digital)

This Privacy Policy describes how Doorstep Local (“we,” operated by Yavin Digital) handles information when you use our marketing site, neighborhood directories (such as Harvest), member tools, and related forms. This is a plain-English prototype draft for the product demo.

1. What we collect

  • Contact & account info — name, email, password (when accounts are live), business details you provide at signup.
  • Submissions — community updates, business recommendations, notify-me emails, and similar form content.
  • Billing info — when memberships or ads are live, payment details are typically processed by a payment provider; we receive status and limited billing metadata, not full card numbers in our own databases (planned architecture).
  • Usage & analytics (placeholder) — pages viewed, device/browser basics, approximate location from IP, and similar metrics to improve the product. Exact tools may change.
  • Cookies / local storage — to keep you signed in, remember preferences, and measure site performance.

2. How we use information

  • Operate neighborhood directories and member dashboards
  • Review and publish (or decline) resident submissions
  • Communicate about accounts, listings, offers, and service updates
  • Process memberships and ad placements when those features are live
  • Improve reliability, design, and neighborhood relevance
  • Protect against spam, fraud, and abuse

We do not sell personal information.

3. Cookies and similar tech

We may use essential cookies (session / auth), preference cookies, and analytics cookies. You can control cookies in your browser; blocking some cookies may limit sign-in or dashboard features.

4. Sharing with third parties

We may share information with:

  • Service providers who host email, payments, analytics, or infrastructure (under contracts that limit their use)
  • Businesses whose listings or offers you interact with, when needed to fulfill a request you initiate
  • Authorities when required by law or to protect residents and the service

Public directory content you choose to publish (business name, offer text, community update after review) may be visible to visitors of that neighborhood directory.

5. Data retention

We keep account and listing data while your membership is active and for a reasonable period afterward for records, disputes, and legal obligations. Form submissions may be kept for review history. Prototype environments may not persist data at all.

6. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures appropriate to a small product team. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

7. Children

Doorstep Local is intended for adults and neighborhood households. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child provided information, contact us and we will delete it.

8. Your choices

Depending on features available, you may update account details, unsubscribe from marketing emails, or request deletion of account data by contacting us. Some operational emails (billing, security) may still be necessary while an account is open.

9. Changes

We may update this Policy as the product grows. The “Last updated” date will change when we do. Material changes will be highlighted on the site or by email when accounts are live.
